    Daegu is the third-largest metropolitan city in South Korea and is the capital of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province even though it is not geographically a part of the province. Daegu, also known as Taegu, is located near the Geumho River. And just like other South Korean cities such as Gyeongju, Daegu also has a long and ancient history. It was a part of the Silla Kingdom in ancient times and was made the capital city of the Gyeongsand-do Province during the Joseon Dynasty. Today, the city has grown to become one of the most popular economic and cultural centres in South Korea.

    The city of Daegu has well-known tourist sites, mountains and parks, shopping areas, museums, and theatres, and hosts a variety of festivals which tourists can enjoy and be a part of. The city also has a number of hotels and resorts that cater to all types of tourists. Additionally, Daegu also has a great transportation network.
